Too weird for the normies. Too normal for the weirdos. Always the wrong guy. Let's fucking go.
Heck, they basically reprinted what could play exactly the same as Juzam and no one blinked. Context matters, we eventually figured out.

A villain is defeated in battle, comes back as a hero with one last chance and then dies for real?

Not only is this a cool effect, but flavor wise it is leagues ahead of the Spider-Man set. And this is just one card. The other stuff they showed off today was on point.

This is what my feed looks like. It sucks.

As an unworthy pleb, I unabashedly admit that the most financially successful movie centered on a Yautja is in my top five of the year.

I've been neck deep into a deep dive into the history of the first Gilded Age, in part by stumbling to the story of James A Garfield. And it is actually inspiring.

We've seen this basic shit before and found a better way forward. We can do it again.
This recent book is great.

Random events reminded me of this tonight.
Gerber's Howard the Duck is incredible stuff.

Getting weird here. On this day of family celebration, which I love, it is important to say that family isn't just blood. It's who you love and who accepts you for who you are.

The weird thing is the best expression I have seen of that idea this year is a Predator movie. If you haven't, see it.

Follow up on my prime rib roast. Nailed it.

Honestly a promotion past its prime. When they started it, stores struggled to sell boxes at 20% over cost. The combination of finding an interesting card and the lack of need for incentive to buy boxes from stores makes this a solid choice.

That said, my favorite just for mayhem value

When part of of the movie Witness was filmed in my hometown of Intercourse, Pennsylvania, they made these shirts for the cast and crew because, in that area, my last name was as common as Jones. I assume it still is. Amish families weren't notable for their lack of offspring.

I use the word failure regularly. And I find many people recoil and I have to explain further.
Failure isn't inherently good or bad. It is an observation. It is a learning opportunity.
You can be successful but also still fail. Just dodge the critical failures and learn from the smaller ones.

I'd wager you know this, but just in case...
Parts of Witness were filmed in my hometown of Intercourse, Pennsylvania. I watched the scenes in the phone booth from across the street. My last name is so common in that area that they made these shirts for the cast and crew.

Does it have space for a very small Optimus Prime in the case?

(If not thats perfectly ok, I'm just never going to pass on a chance to share the Transformer guarding my CPU 😄)

Considering how much I appreciate your work, finding out you're a Cerebus reader makes perfect sense. Yeah, Dave got problematic and I get it. But, just last year I visited him to donate the script to Spawn #10 to the Cerebus Archive in Kitchener. That series is a seminal read.

Post a perfect album from the 90’s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice in Chains.

This was the Six Drop Cube. Everything is either a land or had a CMC of 6. A fun concept, to be sure, but I did feel like the execution needs some tuning.
Rd 3 my opponent said "I don't think this card should be in the cube, but anyway, here's Amnesia." 😆
There's potential though! I'd play again.

Next up was my best deck of the weekend in the TL;DR cube centered around Delney. I went 2-1, losing round one to a deck that was also very good, but the pilot was definitely the superior player and managed to squeak out a three game match.

First deck up was Old Border Foil Cube. I went 1-2 with a sorta reanimator shell. I loved grabbing Intuition...but never drew it!
Had one fun game where a guy attacked me on the play with Goblin Guide. I hit a land. Discarded Sundering Titan, then brought it back on T2.

I'll share decks, but one important note, this year was in honor of CubeCon's founder Jonathan Brostoff, whom we lost last year. He was one of a kind and his passion brought this event into existence. Hard to imagine a better way to honor him than CubeCon continuing to bring people together.

A huge shout out to @bkowal23.bsky.social and the entire CubeCon team for pulling this event off. I've been to all four and this one went even better than before, and previous events were great, too! Brian did a small into Friday morning to a rousing round of applause.
