Good journalists correct fake news rather then perpetuate it.
The trump administration tactic is to create a fake narrative to justify actions. They do this in all areas - Ukraine, trade, migration.....
Anyone who simply reproduces the fakes is helping the trump mafia.

Somehow, but mistakenly, they thought that the US would still be a reliable supplier of arms. They would have done better fighting back. Everyone - russia, China the US - can see the EU will always back off. So they will keep pushing and keep getting.

I am not criticising the article. I am just saying it raises a lot of questions. I do not think these cultural markers are terribly useful as they tend to be used more to exclude than include which I think was the implicit point, but I am not even sure they are a good marker/

Is it really though? I am not so sure. I know quite a few Irish people who do not play any GAA games and don't follow it either - are they not Irish? But maybe that in itself is a fundamental question - what is Irishness. Some seem to think that waving a flag makes them particularly Irish.

If politics are going crazy in several European countries one after the other, I think it is time to go past blaming the failures of individual political actors (and there are quite a few, both in the UK and France) to looking at the systemic pressures our political systems are failing to deal with.

Sinn Fein played the selection very smartly. If Connolly loses she wasn't a SF candidate, if she wins they backed a winner. I the meantime Connolly has gone full Shinner.
