What a great computer science lecture from Admiral Grace Hopper (1982). It's funny, smart and still totally relevant to modern times.

Are you following the #WordPress vs WP Engine trademark drama?🍿 #ThePrimeagen just released an insightful interview with Mathew Mullenweg (Lead dev of #WP and founder of #Automattic). I was surprised by how evasive Matt was on many questions.

I’ve always felt repeatedly 'clicking around' when developing a #UI is incredibly important. I do it intuitively all the time, but I’ve never been able to articulate why—especially when faced with 'too few frontend tests.' Thanks to @jim-nielsen.com for the great analogy of 'sanding' the UI. #dev

I guess, just like nuclear tests spiked carbon-14 levels (helping us date post-1945 objects), the rise of #ChatGPT spiked the use of 'delve' in English online content. Both subtle markers of an epochal era shift. #AI #History #LanguageTrends #llm
Delving into “delve”
If scientific authors use ChatGPT in writing their papers, it is likely that common ChatGPT words will appear.

There is a proposal to add a QUERY method to the #http spec to bridge the gap between GET and POST. QUERY allows sending query data in the body like POST, but the response is expected to be idempotent like GET, which is great for caching. I hope it gets adopted. 🤞 #web #ietf #api #webdev #REST
The HTTP QUERY Method
This specification defines a new HTTP method, QUERY, as a safe, idempotent request method that can carry request content.

These are the dangers of 'moving fast'. Imho, #thebrowsercompany should have awarded Eva @kibty.town way more than lousy 2k for this devastating #vulnerability in #arc. 10-30k would be much more appropriate. Congrats to Eva for this great discovery and responsible disclosure. 🎉

Such an odd story 🤣 I love this kind of #activism. It is smart, positive, no one is endangered, it pokes an obnoxious needle into a giant, and it has a large community behind it. #cah

Ah yes, hexagonal architecture in Rust – because who doesn’t want yet another layer of complexity in their code? 🙃 Why settle for simple whan you can future-proof an app that 'might' scale 🐝 ... Still an interesting read, though. #rustlang #hexaGoneTooFar

For my job, I'm writing a simulation in rust with #bevy. I don't need fancy game visuals, but the entity component system of bevy is awesome. I hope, I won't regret that decision to use a game engine for scientific purposes later on 🙈. #rustlang

The content language setting in the app doesn't seem to affect feeds?! I still see a lot of Portuguese posts. Why is that? What's the technical challenge here? #Bluesky It's great to have so many new Brazilian users 🥳🇧🇷, but unfortunately I don't speak their language (yet) 🥲.
