Had a lovely #PrimeDay jaunt to the local shops. Bought a classic book, went next door for a fresh coffee, and next door again for a hand-sewn bowtie for the kitten. Made human connections with my community. Reinvested in ourselves. Saw two dogs. Bezos in fuckin shambles.

I grew up going to Zabar's. So many of my childhood memories center around the best lox in NYC (which is saying something). With Saul Zabar's passing today, the Upper West Side has lost a legend who turned his parent's humble store into a culinary institution.

The Haunted Palace (1982) was an adventure/RPG hybrid for Apple II and Atari 800 PCs by John Bell. After choosing a role, it's up to you and your wits to explore a huge haunted house and find a secret room while collecting clues, solving puzzles, and fending off monsters! (a haunted thread)

Various monsters will try to stop your exploration of the palace for its hidden room and the demon within.

Maggots on the floor block your way through. How you solve getting past them is one of several puzzles standing in your way.
