Game developer from Finland 🎮 Volunteer at IGDA Finland
Developing a folk horror game in Ren'Py, but also exploring other creative projects to bring different experiences.
We’re still very much at the beginning of this journey, which is also why I chose to focus on that part in the game. 😄

Wishing you all a great start to the week, looking forward to sharing more about the development soon! 🌞

In the end, sometimes we are our worst enemy. :D

True. 😁
I guess I should have started by asking, what is it that makes it difficult?
If it's the whole flow, maybe try sketching some ideas then flipbook them to test how they work. Though if I remember right you might already have a trailer, so maybe testing it with few people to see how they feel.

Have you watched any of Derek Lieu's videos on game trailers? I feel like he has had pretty good videos on making game trailers for different games. :)

1: Unity, but also looking at Godot, which I could see myself using in the future. :)

Depending also on what motivates you. I know for me, I like exploring and learning new things, so I might also take a harder task only to try to solve or learn from it. Even if it would not be something I should not directly now work on, but mainly keep it fun. :D

Adding to this is cutting tasks into smaller bits.
Sometimes, it's hard to see progress if you work on bigger things.

Things that help me stay motivated:
•Thinking about the end goal I have for making the game, like,
→ What will it give me.
→ The experience I would like to give others.
• Taking breaks & getting inspired by things around me.
• Be able to talk about the game.

Loved the Far games and looking forward to herd some cute animals. ❤️

I'm currently working on my free time on a small VR game. The goal of the game is to survive until spring in a small cabin in middle of nowhere. ❄️🏠

Starbound and Journey are definitely a favorite!

Was afterwards thinking about Stay, Ghost of Tsushima and Souls games having a pretty amazing soundtrack.

I'm pretty hyped about the upcoming game Clair Obscur. Based on the trailer and early gameplay, I'm expecting an amazing soundtrack. 🤩
