My uncle fired a water cannon (not violent or painful, just very wet) at his daughter right after she said her vows. He ruined her hair and makeup before pictures. He made her wedding day about himself. He was already the officiant and it was at his house. He couldn’t let her have a single thing.

People saying therapists “don’t give advice” are killing me. They should ask you questions that lead you to understand yourself, call you out on your BS, and flag if you need screening for a psych diagnosis, etc. All of that falls under “advising” you. They play an active role in your mental health.

Her advice had nothing to do with GYN healthcare. I told her I was stressed and asked about HRT. She told me to get a divorce. I switched providers.

I can’t be explaining life to someone brand new. We had a pediatrician once w/ no kids (she was prego), who’d been practicing for less time than I’d been a mom. (I had 4 kids - 17, 15, 13, 9.) Her advice was naive and harmful. Instead of re-prescribing my son’s inhaler, she insisted we vacuum daily.

My GYN tried giving me marriage advice. Her baby was 1. I’ve been married for 21 yrs and have 4 kids (19, 17, 14, 10). The audacity and absolute nonsense she thought she could talk about. Whew! 😂💀

This is why a certain type of man gets into a relationship with an undocumented woman. It’s the same reason they go for wildly young girls and want a “trad” wife. They like the power imbalance. It’s the only way to make their delicate ego feel powerful.
