That Solas's plan to storm his fortress worked? That Rook and crew survived Artlathan Crater? Gotta wonder if Elgy stays his hand sometimes in the hope of turning enemies to his side.

Elgar'nan had likely abandoned whatever role he played in the Vhen'Theneras by the time he was fully committed to ruling as god-emperor. I'm sure losing it to the rebels angered him. But I imagine he treated it as a strategic loss.

At a certain point I think we might need to accept that fandom is never gonna rebuild the kind of centralization it attained during the golden ages of LJ and Tumblr.

Like maybe we're going back to the era of loosely federated Usenet groups where everyone does their own thing.

I was forced to confront the fact that a terrifying number of people will respond to "please be a bit kinder" by giving themselves over to acts of wanton cruelty and systematically working to tear apart the fabric of civil society.

We've already ceded so much ground to these people.

The "trucker convoy" in 2022 was my turning point. Supposedly a protest against vaccine mandates. Was really a bunch of Proud Boy-types occupying Ottawa and terrorizing its citizens by blasting air horns at all hours. Wrapping themselves in the maple leaf while urinating on a war memorial.

Good catch! I'll update the meta to mention it later. I recall the the Lighthouse beacon floating separate from the tower in cutscenes. The art for the Felassan codex seems to confirm the beacon was added. Presumably Solas tore off the original golden onion dome and yeeted it into the Fade.

Bellara states that the Solas's special eluvian is called the Vi'Revas ("freedom of ways") but I don't recall an elven name for the Crossroads or Converged City specifically.

If I wanted to take a stab at coining something I might go with "Viran"/"Vir'an" which would be "place of ways."

Yeah, the Crossroads dialogue is kinda ambiguous on its own. One could interpret it as meaning the Vhen'Theneras is/was a totally separate structure from the Lighthouse. But there's just too much environmental storytelling, I think. Can't see Solas installing the annulus, the sun mosaics, etc.
