So, while being under investigation for possession of child sex abuse material, he's voting on a proposal asserting that the board - including himself - knows what kind of medical care is best for kids. More grotesque than I could imagine.

Lots of reasons to dislike this, mostly because of the viewpoint discrimination and profiling it hinges upon, but for Alaska I imagine it will not be helpful for the tourism industry that is heavily reliant on international visitors.

Glad to see reporting on this. Sounds like it'd be a good idea to take a fresh look at the law, because this seems like a very strange way to generate revenue (and an instructive example of how opaque things get once the government has your information)

Among other things, going with an education system entirely of charter schools would make it extremely difficult to fulfill special education rights of students with disabilities. Decent chance ASD schools would be asked to fulfill services, as well.

The BSA veto justifiably is getting much attention, but I also noticed Governor Dunleavy vetoed about 30 pct of Medicaid funding to support clinic behavioral health services. Seems bad both with the reconciliation bill pending, and with Alaska's intense need for that type of care. #akleg
