Great night at The @wshed.bsky.social Bristol at the Friends & Family screening of GAME. Lots of local crew worked on the film. I think it was 3 years since we sat down in pub and started planning it.

It’s turned out great. Go see it in cinemas from Nov 21st.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

In a woodcut released today the Guild of Thieves and Cutpurses declared that enforcement of regulations against Thieving and Pursecutting would ‘devastate a growth industry’ and damage the economy.
The bubble has already burst (the profit isn't there), but the market is deliberately slow because it knows how catastrophic it's going to be on the global economy. The present danger is the fascists are set to shift the blame and use it as a lever to autocracy. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Also out today. Do like those first three panels. The type of things comics does so well.
Never forgot 51.9% of the UK in 2015 voted for this.

This lurid headline is about British tourists no longer getting away with overstaying in Schengen. Or being 'illegals', as it's often called in the UK.

I say this with the bluntness it requires: they will get people murdered if this continues. This is not just populism anymore either: it’s completely unhinged and a deliberate choice that does endanger lives. I am not saying this lightly at all.

In a bold move, Robert Jenrick is set to unveil a controversial plan targeting what he calls 'activist' judges, at the Conservative Party conference.
I still think Biffo is a horror character trapped in a children's comic. The longer you look at his face the freakier it gets.

Good morning! It’s Tuesday October 7th 2025! Already? Crikey!

(Dated today in 1950, The Dandy & The Beano’s covers find Korky The Cat, by James Crighton, being a cad in a zoo & Biffo The Bear, by Dudley D. Watkins, working in a circus.)

You be careful out there among them English, Joanne Book.
