I need to sort out a better way to do 3x4 developing, but here are a couple from the 3x4 Graflex

P33 is a different animal and they barely got one run of it made before everything went badly. It’s ISO 160 and I think it’s kind of aimed at Plus-X or Double X.

My P30 results have been much more moody
December 11, 2025 at 1:45 AM
I’ll try more P30 and will mess with developing. The P33 I did was great but I had to guess a time for HC-110 and ended up too short.

It at least scanned and gave me an idea of the tonality.

That’s neat!

Forgot to post a pic of the Thin-O-Matic. I found a price list from 61 and it was on par with a basic Rolex price wise. If only it had kept that value 🤣

For those wondering how this combo shoots, here are some samples. The color ones are technically a Nikon N8008s body, but it’s basically an F4 Junior.

The Nikkor 50/1.2 has two faces depending on the aperture: soft and dreamy or nice and crisp from f2 on.

Sometime I have to remember how fortunate we have been to be film photographers after the film times…

Saw a post about Nikon F3
List prices and inflation adjustment, so had to look up this combo:

Nikkor 50/1.2 in 78 $700
Nikon F4 in 88 $2500

2005 inflation adjusted price: $10,350

One of the neatest oddities in my film camera collection is a Revere 33 Stereo camera. It takes a pair of 24x24mm images on 35mm film that recreate the scene in 3D.

Try holing you phone up to your nose and slowly backing it away until the 3D pops.

Looks like this ancient roll of Konica Centuria 200 isn’t too bad. Shot T 100 due to age.

Finally had a few minutes to dig into the mechanism on the Technics SL-BS22 Turntable to fix the gummed up tonearm plunger. Also regreased the platter spindle and stop mechanism.

Running almost rock stead and sounds great.

Dug it out for a better look. It has a Hugo Meyer Model 2 rangefinder and Sheila d research attachment for a Heiland Sol flash.

Looks pretty much the way it did in newspaper use and basically all works

That looks a lot like the 3x4 Pacemaker I have that was used at one of the Spokane, WA newspapers from around 1945 into the 70s or 80s when it was given to a friend of my dad’s. I need to used it more but I’m not really equipped for 3x4 sheet development.

The old C3 bricks are an ergonomic nightmare but it’s a solid triplet. The uncoated flare has some charm too.

Cleans up a lot stopped down to f9 (it uses the old style F stops)
November 28, 2025 at 5:31 AM
It’s a Cooke style triplet. I believe Bausch and Lomb made the lenses for Argus.

Triplets aren’t great at faster apertures, but they have a nice look to them and sharpen up stopped down l.

One of my favorite photos was taken with a Graflex 103/4.5 Triplet on 6x9

Dig through the drawers and found the 1940s uncoated 50mm Cintar from His Argus C3. Despite its age and lack of anti-reflective coating, the old Cintar is a pretty solid lens 80+ years later.
