I'm very proud of myself. An American in the archaeological museum in Athens just said something was 900 years old. It was from the 14th century BC. And I didn't correct them, I just minded my own business.

I am the 3%.

It is regularly the case that I have so many tabs open that there is no number to show how many, and it just shows a smiley winking emoji instead.

I didn't come all the way to Athens to go to fucking M&S. This is weirder than when I saw a C&A in some tiny town outside Munich.
The front of an M&s shop in Athens. People are walking on the cobbled street outside.

Watching people queue to board my flight and the rules on bags are crystal clear. And yet, every 10 people or so there's an argument. "But he's got 2 bags". Yes, because he paid to have 2 bags.

"But this is a handbag". It's a bag.and it's almost the size of my backpack. So yes, you do have 2 bags.

There is a fucking under-diagnosis of these things. A lot of men with depression die before they see a doctor. A lot of women with autism get missed. This is not complicated. The same way when we got better telescopes we kept finding new planets. They didn't come from nowhere. They were always there

This is a tale as old as time, but also an obvious consequence of making university education very expensive. People want value. If not for law, I would 100% have studied history full time instead of part time. Studying history made me a better person. Which I suspect is something she fears.

How is this repeatedly made into a policy issue - by *all* parties - when the blunt fact of the matter is that grown adults who are obliged to pay for their own education, and relentlessly pursued to repay their loans, should be able to study whatever the fuck they want.

I know it's partially not flying to the US, but EasyJet at Gatwick was the easiest bag drop process I think I've ever had. Walk straight up, bag on machine, print tag, attach tag, walk away. No human to slow me down.

Finally, things came up Milhouse.

I've never heard it called that, but don't know

On the cable car as I'm taking Rupert to the vet. The cable car is the only part of the journey he doesn't miaow for release from captivity.

I was desperate to see it in the cinema when it was out but couldn't afford it. And then for some reason it just never happened. One day.

Finally booked birthday plans. Never done Athens, so doing that this week. Birthday avoidance secured.

I think I read the novelisation, weirdly.

My wife has never seen Star Wars.

For me, I don't know. I've never seen Jaws start to finish. I've never seen Titanic. But I think as a teen geek in the mid-90s, it's probably Independence Day. Even now, I'm not sure how I've never seen it.

Inspired by a post I just saw in which someone admitted they hadn’t seen a single episode of Friends nor the film Love Actually… what cultural hole do you have that’s a bit weird for your generation?

I’ll go first: I haven’t seen Dirty Dancing.

Don't get me wrong. Talking on TV (and along with a video package) is a difficult thing to do and with practice, he might get better. But there's no way he should be getting top dollar over someone else.

Putting Rooney on Match of the Day when she's so inarticulate is a baffling decision. There was a moment when Shearer asked him a question as if he'd missed his cue. Maybe another type of show would be okay, but he really struggles with the analysis segments, talking along with the video.

Paused iPlayer and this is fucking horrifying.

And while I'm proving how much of a nerd I am, if you're free the day before Halloween, and you fancy dying at the hands of xenomorph-worshipping cultists, then get yourself down to Deptford High Street. Book early to avoid (or perhaps ensure) disappointment

This article manages to name her husband before it names… her.
Article reads:
Woman named as Archbishop of Canterbury in historic first

The 63-year-old archbishop-designate is married to Eamonn Mullally, with whom she has two children. Originally from Woking in Surrey, she was the UK's chief nursing officer from 1999 to 2004.
