Here's a second picture that was taken from the stream bed. Waterproof boots and wool socks are a must. To get to Buttermilk you need to cross the steam 5-6 times regardless of the season.

It gets a bit icy but not enough to stop me from sliding down by that big rock in the middle of that stream. I usually find another way back up the hill farther down the stream. This shot was about midway down the hill.

Found 10 rolls old print and slide film. Bought batteries to fire up several old 35mm cameras. Yashica SLR, Pentax SLR, Chinon SLR and Olympus point & shoot all working with new batteries. Adapting old lens to digital too. No waste.

A hike in the woods not far from our house a while ago. Took my small camera. The deer followed me for 10 minutes. Experimented with the Fisheye lens.

At the waterfall hike Friday the boardwalk section had a lock of love section. It was pretty large but I only took two pictures.
I used it to burn off breakfast before lunch and more Thanksgiving leftovers.

I've started trying vintage lenses on my Canon DSLR with adapters so I get good exposure. Here are two from a few months ago. The lens is a 1965 made Pentax 50mm 1.4f 8 element lens at about F4. The Canon thinks its wide open. Bought adapters for C, C/Y and M42 mounts.

part 2 , I often take the small Pentax Q7 in my backpack with a couple of lenses when I hike. I have a new iPhone with me but there is more control with this camera.

Most people use a larger sensor camera like my Canon DSLR or a newer mirrorless with high MP count. These are however taken with a pocketable Pentax Q7 only 12mp. Great for hiking and #travel when you are concerned with weight or size but you want to take a variety of lenses.

The squirrels haven’t bothered our bird feeder lately. I found the reason today. Our oak trees are dropping acorns at an amazing rate. I’m betting on a cold winter ahead. Our gravel walks in our yard are acorn covered.

@flakefood.bsky.social Loved the lures post. Its in my blood. Me with my Mom (RIP) when I was about 10. I caught several of those. Dad had an seaside business and we fished almost every day. I should post more of my old fishing pictures. I have many.

Pretty lights, blurry picture. Taken at night in the late 70s. Was from a moving ship in the Gulf of Mexico while calibrating our satellite navigation by knowing the position of the oil rig legs. Waiting on a better adapter for my duplicator.

Got a slide duplicator to adapt to the DSLR. Not all the correct pieces yet but close enough. My surf trip cohort Jeff on a wave at Blacks Beach, San Diego Oct 1978. Was up to 27' that day. Sorry but its not focused well yet.

I know its National take a Hike Day but I have obligations. May go hiking or running this week after I get family stuff done. I'll just post a picture from when I was hiking trails in Southern Ohio a few years ago. Top of a ridge.

Mound building culture in my state may go back 2300 yrs ago. Of the 70 burial mounds in the state I've seen about 8 of them. Found one on a hike that isn't mapped so I won't say where.

You're lucky. In the Ohio snow belt we only get a month or two to play that.

For a fun compact game for travel this has become a family favorite. My daughter and son-in-law love us to play this one. I bought iit a few yrs ago. Lately they bought a compact game called Trash Pandas. Haven't played it yet.

Just adding a few of my pics. Hiked over three 600' ridges twice the day I took this one. Burned 3400 calories that day, nearly 13 miles.

I wouldn’t call it a snow storm but it’s whiter outside. The TV news pic is an hour north. In the am our yard was covered.
