"One of the great tragedies of mankind is that morality has been hijacked by religion. So now people assume that religion and morality have a necessary connection. But the basis of morality is really very simple and doesn't require religion at all."

Let us remember that many people struggle at the holidays. Love to them. It’s ok to not be ok. A closed mouth and open ears are a blessing.

Toni Morrison will always be my favorite author – no question💖!
The first book of hers that I read was Paradise. Paradise is such a challenging and thought-provoking read. I loved everything about it! Morrison was a masterful storyteller 📖[1/3]

"The police... when they arrive
They say they can't interfere
With domestic affairs
Between a man & his wife
As they walk out the door
The tears well up in her eyes
Last night I heard the screaming
Then a silence that chilled my soul
Prayed that I was dreaming
When I saw the ambulance in the road.."

Why do the babies starve
When there's enough food to feed the world?
Why when there are so many of us
Are there people still alone?
Why are the missiles called Peacekeepers
When they're aimed to kill?
Why is a woman still not safe
When she's in her home?

It’s mostly white people who talk about echo chambers. Maybe you need the internet to meet people with different ideas but the rest of us do not. We know what the “other side” thinks because we deal with it every day! Everywhere! We’re fine. Carry on. Happy Saturday!
