In terms of US politics, Bush v. Gore is the defining event of the century. More and more research is showing that in the US, extreme weather exacerbates quality of life disparities more than anyone previously was accounting for. It’s going to get worse.

I don't know exactly how the new birthright citizenship case will come out, but I'd note that if it eviscerates §1 of the 14th Amendment, the remedy of "just pass a constitutional amendment" wouldn't apply. The 14th is already there.
The sole public remedy would be to reform the Supreme Court.

insane local news just dropped. i've lived in a part of KC for ~decade and it's been an inside joke with friends and service workers that the local biz/party district is ran by a cartel of biz owners who bully out new ventures and replace them with generic dive bars for white suburbanites.

He thinks a wealth tax is bad, but destroying all the earthly possessions of unhoused communities is his personal duty as Governor of California. I do not like this man.
Gov. @gavinnewsom says he disagrees with Mayor @zohrankmamdani about the need for a wealth tax on billionaires, which he is “adamantly against” - says Dems are a “big tent party” with both views.
