I have two memories of this.

- I was in a G&T class when I heard about it and was deeply saddened and thought I had wished it into existence. Why?

- Less than a week earlier in the same G&T class I had participated in an assigned debate where I argued that Space Shuttles had a lifespan of flights.

I distinguish them thusly:

The first indicates direction/movement.

The second indicates more than one and less than 3 protective spells.

I am not a smart man.

I feel like they'd both have the best snacks and would want to share.

I think a lot of this is performance theater as well. 'Look at how much I know' bull. 'I'm the king nerd'. etc.

Y'all, just let people in and enjoy a thing. Share knowledge when asked. Listen when you're not asked. Let people engage on their level - that is literally sexy as af.

In my mind, it's simple.

Hobby spaces are a reflection of society.

Society is messy. Some people, as individuals, think they should be gatekeepers to keep the 'bad people' out. But the definition as to what is bad seems to slide a lot based on morals and personal perception. It's maddening.

I'm very explicitly asking people not to pile on (like, don't go chasing guests recently on their show), but the number of creators still willing to work with them is maddening.

I mean, at what point should THEY hear crickets from other creators when they ask to work with them.

Being 52, this sentiment is relatable.
