The Trump admin in a nutshell; in order to justify their own mistake, they’re going to release a violent felon with five deportations so he can testify against the guy with no criminal record they mistakenly deported.

In other words, the story is always more important than the principle.
The Trump admin has freed Jose Hernandez Reyes because he can testify against Abrego Garcia.

Hernandez, who has been deported 5 times, has also been arrested for:

—DUI w/ a handgun;
—cocaine possession;
—illegally transporting migrants; and
—drunkenly firing a gun.

Star witness against Kilmar Abrego García was due to be deported. Now he’s being freed.
Jose Ramon Hernandez Reyes is a three-time felon released early from federal prison to a halfway house in exchange for testifying against Kilmar Abrego García.

Let’s not forget that earlier today, this day was known as “we cannot build bananas in America” day. That is, until everything went bananas
DEAN: What's the tariff on bananas?

LUTNICK: Generally 10%

DEAN: Walmart has already increased the cost of bananas by 8%

LUTNICK: If you build in America, there is no tariff

DEAN: We cannot build bananas in America

Blumenthal to Noem: "Some of the expenditures your department is making- $200m for an ad campaign fawning over Trump's supposed accomplishments...none of these expenditures are in your budget...you're just spending recklessly & it would seem wastefully without authorization. That's against the law."

This is extraordinary. The Secretary of Homeland Security doesn’t know what the right of habeas corpus is (the ancient right to go to court to challenge government detention) and offers an incoherent definition which suggests she thinks it’s a presidential power to deport people?
HASSAN: What is habeas corpus?

NOEM: Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country

HASSAN: That's incorrect

Many of my elderly neighbors don’t have access to hot or fresh food. Meals on Wheels can’t be delivered this far out and we have no restaurants. Some elderly folks in my community count on the food bank who comes to our town to deliver fresh food.

Those food banks are now losing their funding.
