I assume today (Jan 20th '25) will be a slow news day. So to give you something to think about, here's a tight crop of part of the Veil Nebula. The Veil Nebula is a supernova remnant some 2400 lightyears away. (Approx 14,108,701,682,176,092 miles away!)

The Rosette Nebula is a beautiful star-forming region in the constellation Monoceros. Its rose-like shape and vibrant colors make it a stunning cosmic sight! Hope you enjoy!#Astrophotography #astronomy @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social
