The fact that only ISD 196 high schools were closed today for an ongoing credible shooting threat does not leave parents of middle schoolers and elementary school children with an abundance of comfort.

One thing I was not prepared for after having kids is explaining the weird bathroom stuff my kids do.

My 6 y/o son decided that putting poopy TP in the trash is actually what you’re supposed to do (because it’s dirty).

My 4 y/o daughter thought it was a good idea to pee in the open floor vent.

It’s unclear why the prices differ, but a new notice on Target’s website offers a potential hint: “This price was set by an algorithm using your personal data.”
Your Data Might Determine How Much You Pay for Eggs
A newly enacted New York law requires retailers to say whether your data influences the price of basic goods like a dozen eggs or toilet paper, but not how.

Has anyone actually had some semblance of satisfaction/luck with AI headshot apps? My place of work is requiring all software engineers to update their avatars and profile pictures with a professional photo.

Man it was premature to show Mr 5 the movie, “Jingle All The Way.” After seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger flying around St. Paul in a Turbo Man costume…

Mr 5: Dad can you tell Santa I want a Turbo Man for Christmas?

Getting two different sicknesses from each of my kids who go to a different school. Can’t speak, swallow, hear well, or breathe without pain. Conveniently left out from conversations about having children 🤦🏻‍♂️

Maybe cloud services are not so good after all.

Cloudflare outage for CDN took many systems offline this morning.

GitHub Enterprise Cloud is disabling software companies from functioning this afternoon.

“Easy ways to get explosive diarrhea”
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

Um Visual Studio 2026 is really good actually. I can finally feed CoPilot my instructions and chat modes!

And holy crap SSMS 22 has CoPilot built in too.

It should be illegal to have professional quality Christmas lights decorated on your house and all over your property this early in November

I was hoping it would be cold and rainy again for going trick or treating with the kids 🤦🏻‍♂️

Life in Minnesota I guess. At least it wasn’t snow this year.

So the president took a dementia test, and then they administered an MRI. Where’s the media on this?

I’m sure each generation of parents has to endure movies their kids really love, but are truly terrible. However…whoever green lit the movie “Spooky Buddies” needs to be tried by judge Judy.

Anyone in the Twin Cities area should really get out to see the Halloween Spooktacular at the MN Zoo this year. Some super cool pumpkins on display this year!

Being employed at a place that is verbally acknowledging the transition away from Agile practices to a waterfall approach because customers purportedly want, “big reveals” not incremental changes based on actual user feedback.

I’m sure it’s a coincidence that the management head count has tripled.

Minnesota, wtf are we even doing?
More than 420 state bills attacking key public health protections have been introduced in 2025. Around 30 bills in 12 states have already been enacted or adopted.

Having kids on the spectrum can be challenging at times when it comes to hygiene. My 5 y/o son does ok as long as he has an explanation of why it’s necessary. Exempt from these rules are trimming fingernails and pulling baby teeth. Full meltdown tonight after tooth #2 came out. “I want it back in!”
