And this is all without the new breakthroughs in solar and batteries coming to market in the next few years increasing efficiency and energy density substantially.

I've never been this hopeful about the ability to shift entirely to clean renewable energy in my lifetime.

The same is true for our City infrastructure like roads and sidewalks. Councils of the past were obsessed with keeping taxes artificially low, so they “kicked the can down the road”. Eventually, though, things fail and must be replaced. The downside - there’s a higher cost to doing it later.

Households aren't spending as much.
Less on cars, less on international travelling (esp to the U.S.)
More on rent and, ahem, financial services.
In aggregate, more savings.
