If you don’t think you can make money on a WNBA team in 2026 sell your team and get the fuck out of the way
The NBA claims the WNBA will lose $700 million over the course of the agreement if the player's offer is accepted. That is complete nonsense. And anyone with a calculator could show this.

In the next week I will post the math for people who don't own a calculator.

Every. Single. Thing.
Every single thing that the Ford government does makes our province worse. Every single thing.
The Doug Ford government dropped tire recycling targets, but consumers are still paying eco fees on tires, and there have been job losses for those who used to collect and recycle tires. This is horrible for both the environment and for workers.

None of this is “good faith political debate,” and it’s not a coincidence that all these outlets are suddenly interested in the same “discussion” at the same time.

Treating women’s humanity like a thought exercise makes it that much easier to legislate away

The same is true for our City infrastructure like roads and sidewalks. Councils of the past were obsessed with keeping taxes artificially low, so they “kicked the can down the road”. Eventually, though, things fail and must be replaced. The downside - there’s a higher cost to doing it later.

This is more than twice the amount of money paid to every writer in Canada in royalties who has had their book taken out of a library in the past year.
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) paid $18 million for a chatbot named Charlie, which the auditor general reported gave her team the wrong answer 66% of the time.

The chatbot's responses were found to be brief and lacking context, with only 2 out of 6 questions answered accurately.

Come on Hamilton, don’t rewind like everywhere else - prioritize people, not trucks!
reviewing the Barton st functional design preferred options and it appears we, the City of Hamilton, paid someone to type the sentence "increase curb lane to accommodate trucks" under a section about prioritizing sidewalks

god help us

Something that is easy to forget in all the "Carney is a political genius / Carney is a political naif" argle bargle is that climate policies matter. Environmental regulations matter. Getting rid of them may or may not achieve a political end — but it's guaranteed to have real-world implications.

If you expect Mark Carney won't take pipeline blame whether it's built or not, I have bad news for you: opposition parties aren't going to be charitable in their framing and voters aren't always charitable, or consistent, themselves.

Carney will be seen as Captain Pipeline.

In just half a year, Carney has dismantled almost all of the climate progress Canada had made over the last decade

It's neck and neck between him and Trump for who ruined things fastest

*of course, Trump has Carney beat on a long list of things like destroying democracy and people's lives

Households aren't spending as much.
Less on cars, less on international travelling (esp to the U.S.)
More on rent and, ahem, financial services.
In aggregate, more savings.
[Noted by StatCan: Distributionally, more savings at the top, not the bottom. ]

The federal-AB agreement is a love letter to fossil fuels

-cancelation of critical policies (OG emissions cap & clean electricity rules)
-public $$ for a pipeline (via Indigenous loan program)
-more $$ for CCS, incl. enhanced oil production
- only mention of electricity is for fossil fuels
