it is distressing. that's the correct reaction. everyone should be distressed right now, we've got stormtroopers attacking us in public and people are calling it a protest.

From a rainbow community perspective, there's no reason to rely on the Police here.
However, opposition figureheads should be doing more than posting online about how bad Tamaki is. They can and should be highlighting how the state's supposed protective measures have repeatedly failed here.

you'll be able to bring that up in almost every job interview you have for the rest of you life, anytime someone asks what experience you have working with queers, you can say "let me tell you a little story where I look empathetic, but also have a real eye for the details 😉"
