Just updated my handle to the .com I've been sitting on for a few months! :)

I honestly can't believe I got this domain! Cynethryth was the consort of Offa of Mercia and even got her face put on a coin, pretty unheard of at the time!

I still use queencynethryth in a few other places! 👑💚

The terms of service argument against self-harm in the ChatGPT case is so wild to me because one of the fundamental rules in contract law is that people not of sound mind are unable to legally consent to contracts like this.

ToS can't regulate someone's mental state. Self-harm would invalidate ToS

But never with fiction books.

And doubly never with indy authors.

Just buy the book.

Or get it from your library.

A party that actually has any power would have gotten to the vote and said, "Sorry, Seymour. Turns out it's SUPER unpopular, and makes us look really bad." And Seymour could have either a) thrown a tantrum, or b) kept his coveted job as deputy pm. And you absolutely know he would have gone with b.

Specialist believes the infection I've had is a specific form of rosacea (which seemed to be made worse by some kind of bacterial infection). I have been treated for it, and we seem to have gotten past the biggest hurdles. On an extended round of antibiotics a few times a week now.

AI generated images or videos should not be used in political ads. It makes no difference if you are "generating fakes of real people" bc the model uses images it has been trained on, not just the image of a specific person you are generating. #nzpol

I really appreciate the remarks about Chippy, here. Even *if* Labour does come out denouncing the puberty blocker ban, the delay is very much Chippy's outdated style: a bit too reserved.

But he's quick to bash potential partners, unless it's NZF, apparently.

Anyway, Labour? Get a new leader.

Bishop is so delusional about "downward pressure" on rates by cutting regional councils. Everything I've been told indicates more remote areas of our country literally cannot survive as they are without further investment in infrastructure. Rates are already too low.

So, get rid of one thing to replace it the same thing, but worse, with extra steps, and run by people who already have jobs.

Sounds like a typical National policy.

Let me guess, the same people who'd vote for these muppets are the same ones who don't understand regional councils?

We can't get off this path by tinkering around the edges; we need a radical revisioning of how our government and society function.

One thing that NZers need to understand is that going for 100% completion on the original Rogernomics agenda is not a reversible thing. We will need to transform all this wreckage into something new. We can't just "rebuild", as has been proven many times over.
November 25, 2025 at 12:48 AM
This is extra painful to me b/c I know someone who basically needs their job at a regional council or else they will likely lose their house.

They are not really employable anymore and was banking on having a job at their RC for the next several years to pay off their debts.
So will we have any government left by October next year?

How many people work at regional councils? How many jobs are just going to go *poof* when this legislation reaches its end?

How many local services will be cut because of this?
It is understood reforms to be announced today will mean the dissolving of regional councils, and the first steps could be within this current three-year council term.
