WaPo reports that ICE is planning 7 massive human warehouses holding 5,000 to 10,000 people.

Recalls the acting ICE director 2015 statement that he wanted to see a “business”-oriented approach to deportations, “like [Amazon] Prime, but with human beings”.

ICE documents reveal plan to hold 80,000 immigrants in warehouses
The Trump administration wants to build seven large-scale deportation hubs to speed up deportations, internal ICE documents show.

Trump and Stephen Miller kidnapped innocent people of color and just sent them to die in a foreign prison.

Oh American taxpayer dollars - 6 million of them - went to pay Bukele of El Salvador for this dirty work.

I know people are rightly going to be worried about child health, their own health. But we also can't afford this. Like, John Hopkins did an estimate (next link) and every measles case during outbreaks cost on average $43,000 to treat. That kid who got tetanus cost $1 million dollars to treat /1

FOUR new deaths in ICE detention. That puts the total this year at 30 people dead; the highest in ICE's history and worse than even during the COVID years.

It's clear that the system is breaking down. Many of these are preventable deaths.
In the 90 minutes since I posted this, I've gotten two more death notifications.

ICE has a responsibility to take care of these people, something they are clearly disregarding. This is beyond horrifying. We must ensure dignity and humanity for detained people in this country.
Within 15 minutes today, I got two back-to-back notifications of deaths at ICE facilities.

28 people have died in ICE custody since Trump took office. These facilities are overcrowded & are putting their own profits over health and safety. We need oversight & accountability NOW.

New attack on immigrants: the Trump administration is demanding that Citizenship and Immigration Services field offices start drumming up “100-200 denaturalization cases per month.”

Hey Seattle friends, if you donate to KUOW let them know what you think of this decision.

I got a follow-up phone call from them where they said they'd share my thoughts with KUOW management. An opportunity to influence local media consumption.
@kuow.org As a long time supporter I was incredibly disappointed to hear you offering a New York Times subscription as a premium.

The NYT has become an outlet for sanewashing the President’s cognitive and moral failiures and promoting baseless hatred of trans people. Why would you platform this?

They don’t want legal immigration either.
“A group of people who were ready to be sitting in these very seats, raising their right hand to swear an oath to become citizens were turned away at the door because of their countries of origin, stemming from the hateful policies of this federal administration,” said Mayor Wu.
