Yes, this. Good example.

I think many hinge on the “but I occasionally like what he says!” instead of realizing all the dealbreakers they should’ve noticed.

Like, iunno… I just think someone frothing at the mouth to make disabled people’s lives significantly harder should be more of a dealbreaker.

But for real, I’m so glad we have same brain about this. Chiefly concerning the whole “I’ve never seen a good take from him” bit.
December 15, 2025 at 11:09 PM
So, what that turns into is someone you believe to be a trusted source occasionally spouting fascist viewpoints. Instead of it being overt, it’s more covert and becomes more difficult for you to differentiate.

(Multiply that several times over if you follow a bunch of similar accounts.)

I’ve made several posts about why I think Blue MAGA accounts are dangerous.

In short, people that try to come off as more progressive than they actually are help normalize much less progressive stances since these types are always following what’s more mainstream. (e.g., Right-adjacent liberalism.)

If you want more explanation, it’s that I tend to find people like him to be a little bit dangerous to follow.

That is, people with large audiences who speak with authority and an unwillingness to admit when they’re wrong.

He’s the type that comes off as someone cosplaying a progressive.

Well, if it helps, this one in particular has an avatar that looks like an off-brand Pringles mascot

oh hes main character again?

bsky.app/profile/mewt...
idk ive never once seen todays main character with a good take, and their take of "maybe we should means test for accommodations MORE" is shitty enough to warrant me thinking they have a humiliation fetish or are a debate pervert and i dont wanna engage.

I’m actually a bit baffled about his popularity in particular. It seems we both have easily identified how piss poor his views are.
December 15, 2025 at 10:36 PM
It’s not that he’s main character again, per se— it’s just that I saw a handful of people sharing some of his takes on a topic he clearly knows nothing about.

And I’m over here like, “Have y’all forgotten how many foot in mouth moments we’ve seen from him already!?”
December 15, 2025 at 10:35 PM
I bring this up because I see a ton of people reposting stuff from him when he doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground.

Just because someone has a lot of followers doesn’t necessarily mean they know what they’re talking about at any given time.
December 15, 2025 at 10:32 PM
On top of seeing him talk about how much he wants to “punish” people for “faking disabilities” (something that’s incredibly rare and not worth exploring) I’m now seeing him postulate about radicalization in ways I can only shake my head at.

Don’t worry, I’ve since blocked him.

I have this on a t-shirt lol

FWIW, I think it’s totally possible to attract someone who would be willing to make the first move without switching anything about yourself. Even other introverts can be more forward and outgoing in those areas. And/or some extroverts don’t always like going for equally extroversive people.

I’m in my 30’s and the last time I wore a white shirt in public I had a nosebleed on it lol

I could see wanting that. But, I’m with you. If it doesn’t feel natural or worthwhile, don’t change it. The possibility is always there and you could try it whenever you want if you decide to.

There are benefits to the way you are now, they’re just harder to see because you’re used to it.
December 15, 2025 at 8:56 PM
What would you change it into?
December 15, 2025 at 8:54 PM
As for evidence? There’s plenty but look no further than longterm Dems pushing for a candidate that literally had a Nazi tattoo for 20+ years while trying to convince people it’s not a big deal.
December 15, 2025 at 8:51 PM
I’ll even venture to say, Dems have a historical tendency to try and appeal to more “moderate” Repubs than they do *actual* leftists. Because, again, when you base your stance off of someone else’s blueprint, it seems “easier” to reach those individuals and convert them than try something new.
