If it's not regime change, and it's certainly not "law enforcement," let's just call it a nuclear-armed oil heist.

good time to read this.
Marco Rubio is the Trump administration’s most formidable liar and is dead set on placing drug cartel bosses at the top of every Latin American government. Maureen Tkacik reports on Rubio’s long narco-terrorist history:

Maduro faces drug charges in U.S. even as Trump freed others convicted of trafficking

It's why he is threatening Colombia + Mexico. Why he bought elections in Argentina + Honduras. And interfered in Brazil's courts.

Latin America's democratic left bloc is the most principled opposition to Trump in the world, defending international law while richer + more powerful nations cower. 2/3

The weak response from Can, EU and UN to Trump's flagrant crimes in Venezuela is striking.

It exposes that much of the world has been cowed.

Most notable exception: the Latin American left.

That is why the Trump Admin has gone to enormous lengths to defeat the left across the continent. 1/3

US data shows that most cocaine entering the US originates in Colombia and travels via Mexico or Central America, not directly through Venezuela. Some analysis suggests Venezuela’s contribution to US cocaine flows is very small — less than 1% of the total US drug market.
