I'm sure there is a lot to be said about Rubio/Trump's reorganization of the State Department, but what should be said is that this org chart's formatting is a hot mess. The longer you look, the more unprofessional it gets.

Trump’s foreign policy is all about prestige. He obsesses with perceived deference, and is willing to sacrifice very real strategic benefits for flattery. The Trump doctrine is more like how Sergei Radchenko’s analysis of Soviet policy: driven by prestige.

What does Steve Walt, the current torchbearer of academic realism think about foreign policy from the perspective of the US in Feb 2025. Surely continuity with the Biden admin given continuities in the systemic destruction of power. Oh wait!
