This is a documentary on the Irish channel TG4 about how me and my family became refugees in Ireland and of the toll the Russian invasion has taken on our lives. It's in Irish with English subtitles. Available worldwide!

Polar bears are short of food in their usual habitats, so I wouldn't rule out that they get closer to humans. So your program is not entirely risk-feee 😄

Thank you for this. I was struggling to come up with things to say about this without getting suspended.

Many have never paid attention to her statements and voting in the Dáil, so they can perfectly project a nice lady being nice on all issues. Except the far-left are known to be appalling to some people who are not Russia's or their other favourite dictators' friends. Connolly is no exception.

If she wins, her pro Russian statements will put Ireland in the league with Hungary and Slovakia. And nobody outside Ireland knows that foreign affairs are outside president's remit.

Hope high turnout shows mobilisation of the democratic voters too...

It was like that here too for a meagre 5 mins.

It is widely known that Islamism and communism are supportive of each other. (Not)

This is really a very nice article about EU solidarity and German-Irish relations

Following the appalling comments by Catherine Connolly on Germany last week everyone should read this by @fotoole.bsky.social For someone aspiring to the highest constitutional office, an awareness of European history should be a requirement.

Navalnaya's solution - the West supporting Russian civil society, independent media, human-rights defenders - was tried in the '90s.

It failed catastrophically.

Russians have to solve the problems of their sick fascist-imperialist society themselves, long-term.

No more shifting blame to the West.

Despite all the sanctions and strong words, thinking has been lamentably short-term, writes Alexei Navalny’s widow econ.st/42vLxCf

Reading yet another otherwise good book and each chapter starts with the likes of 'it was a misty morning in [New York, Moscow, anywhere], the leaves were rustling under her feet. She was thinking of [this and that]'. Somebody needs to stop this.

It may be a controversial take, but we need alternatives to the ubiquitous storytelling, which takes individual stories and weaves bigger issues around it. It's like dumbing down. As if a reader can understand if the story is fed to them peacemeal, packaged in somehow relatable experiences.
