Purveyors of rambling stories with no point
Dec 8th: salted butter caramel. This is not a jam, it is a sauce, and it will not be going on toast. (Also, it's not as good as the stuff I make.)

Dec 7th: pear, mandarin and cinnamon. This is bloody excellent and I am only disappointed that we'll never see it in a normal sized jar.

Dec 6th: currant and raspberry jelly. Just look at that colour! It's fantastic. Also tastes great - not too sweet or sharp. Definitely redcurrants.

Dec 5th: pineapple and rum with vanilla. Very sweet, good pineapple hit, the vanilla is hidden by the rum which is a bit much for morning toast.

Dec 4th: cherry and violet jam. Was mildly trepidatious about this, but there's very little violet in there. A good cherry jam, in any event. #adventcalendar #bonnemaman

Dec 3rd: apple, caramel and cinnamon jam. Good apple flavour, some chunks, not enough cinnamon. #adventcalendar

Dec 2nd: hazelnut chocolate spread. IMO much better than the ubiquitous c&h spread that everybody knows.

Dec 1st! I can open the first door on my Bonne Maman advent calendar! I haven't had an advent calendar in years. Today is Apricot and honey; this is pretty good, maybe a bit sweet in that way honey can be. Bits of apricot, which is nice.

I gave up. Am now sat in a different different seat.

I'm in a different chair because one cat has decided my usual seat is now her usual seat, and the other cat has decided that this chair is now her preferred seat.

small sketch of a much bigger piece I want to do in painting class, but I only have six hours of class left so might not get it done.

Canterbury tart. Baking because I can't focus on a book. Anyway, this is basically lemon tart with grated apple mixed in and it's very good indeed.

Because every warning label has a story behind it, I have questions.

On the entrance to tracks 1 & 2 at Malmö central station.

The storm blew over my remaining tomato plants, so all the green ones were picked.

Happy Equinox day, folks!

Caaaaats.

The tomato finally ripened enough to eat. It was quite tasty. Tomato-flavoured, as opposed to, say, "the memory of being a child tasting their first bright red fruit and arguing that itvwas a vegetable"-flavoured.

Finally! Growing tomatoes is an exercise in patience.

when one makes jam (damson on the left, greengage on the right) one must also make scones with which to test the jam.
