I remember years ago watching an interview with @barbrastreisand.bsky.social in which she said that heart disease in men and women is different.

She’s right. That means that doctors need to ensure they know how to identify and treat the disease in women.

When zero doesn’t mean zero: the limits of coronary calcium in women
Coronary artery calcium scoring has revolutionized cardiovascular prevention. But in women, it sometimes underestimates the risk.

Donald Trump told America's top generals: If you disagree with me and leave the room, "there goes your rank, there goes your future." This isn't leadership. It's a threat. He doesn't want a military loyal to the Constitution, he wants one loyal only to him. Yet another red line for our democracy.

The EPA has eliminated its research division, which for decades has provided the science behind regulations on clean air, clean water, and toxic chemicals.

The US can afford to monitor, research, and regulate the impacts of industries on human and environmental health. We are just choosing not to.

Is this the part where America is great again? No more NIH funding or grants for scientific study and research to advance human health?
All NIH study sections canceled indefinitely. This will halt science and devastate research budgets in universities.

The targeting of migrants for detention & deportation, without due process, is an outrage in itself. But it’s also about profiteering.

This is how our democracy is SUPPOSED to work, folks.

Boring and normal.

No mob attacking the Capitol.
No incitement of insurrection.
No smearing feces on the walls.
No beating cops with flagpoles.
No crowds screaming to hang the Vice President.

Just a normal, peaceful transfer of power.
