Napkin aficionado from Madison.
The number of men who claim they love mad men because “men were men back then” is approximately zero.

“Can you believe this strawman?!” Is an entire ass genre of skeet.

This guy is appealing to a “statistic” that amounts to his acquaintances self-reported, vaguely defined experiences of sexual assault.

Been on bluesky for a day now and it feels very much like Twitter circa 2019. A lot of people desperately clinging to the Gawker aesthetic.

Borrowing from the misinformation tactics of the right, the “study” cited in the referenced article is clearly labeled “opinion” and is not original research or a formal systematic review.

We’ve developed effective vaccines and effective treatment for acute infection.

Wear a mask if you want but insisting everyone must by default is silly and people are over it.
"Right now, people with chronic health conditions must protect themselves from others and the risk of infection in our shared indoor spaces, and they must take responsibility for this because no one else does."

If you want to understand Dems failure connecting with the working class, look no further than people who had the luxury of working from home during the pandemic (see: statistically higher earners) complaining about having to show up to work like everyone else.

Dems, for the love of god, please jettison anyone who uses the term “cishet white men.” The general electorate is repulsed by these midwits who want a carve out for their own brand of bigotry.

Their analysis is invariably very bad, too.
That's what I hate: the false dichotomy (created by both centrist Dems and leftists) between race/gender/sexuality and class. Reminds me of all the cishet progressive white men I've known who have proclaimed that class is the "real issue" without a hint of irony.
sigh. if anyone actually read Black feminist theory, they'd know that identity politics includes class! it's not one or the other. gender and race are inextricably linked to class!

Go ahead but don’t feign surprise when nobody listens. Dems did this during Trump’s first term and then maintained most of them once they took office.
(one thing i might recommend to democrats is to start *now* using every opportunity available to tell americans that trump's tariffs will make your life more expensive)

“We didn’t hear ‘identity politics’ from the democrats!” proclaim partisans who purity-tested reliable Democrat voters out of their party.
The thing is, the constant hammering on "identity politics" came from the GOP. "Those folks over there want men in girls' locker rooms! Those folks over there are transitioning kids!" etc., etc. I didn't hear "identity politics" from the Democrats.
