Ugh i was already behind on covering things (largely the shutdown) and have been sick for 5 days. Very annoyed

Two years. I can't believe it. What a disgusting time. What a horrific time. We live in the age of monsters, and all we can hope for is to finally defeat some of them. Free palestine.

About to have my 10th and 11th quart of veselka chicken noodle soup in 3 days. Hope to finally be better tomorrow

In all the endless discussions of LLMs, there’s a point that is, on one level, obvious, but that I feel does not get sufficiently foregrounded: LLMs are transforming material that people have put up on the internet.

Its pretty amazing to see a monograph I got through FOIA nearly two years ago become an important citation in a monumental case before the Supreme Court.

This is why we fund scientists to study things like oyster slobber even if you don’t think it sounds important

⚠️ Chinese researchers have invented bone glue that mimics how oysters stick to surfaces underwater.

The adhesive can reportedly repair orthopedic fractures in 2-3 minutes, even in blood-rich environments, and is bioabsorbable.

hi, federal judge expert here! this is not funny. conservative, Reagan-appointed district judges only use epistolary framing devices in their opinions when they are in extreme distress.

the postcard cited in judge young's ruling isn't just at the top, it's a framing device. the whole opinion is a letter to the postcard writer. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

(On file in Chambers) TRUMP HAS PARDONS AND TANKS ... WHAT DO YOU HAVE?
Dear Mr. or Ms. Anonymous,
Alone, I have nothing but my
sense of duty.
Together, We the People of the
United States –- you and me --
have our magnificent Constitution.
Here’s how that works out in a
specific case –-
UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
DISTRICT OF MASSACHUSETTS I hope you found this
helpful. Thanks for writing.
It shows you care. You
should.

 Sincerely & respectfully,
Bill Young

P.S. The next time you’re in
Boston [the postmark on the card
is from the Philadelphia area]
stop in at the Courthouse and
watch your fellow citizens, sitting
as jurors, reach out for justice.
It is here, and in courthouses
just like this one, both state and
federal, spread throughout our land
that our Constitution is most vibrantly
alive, for it is well said that “Where a
jury sits, there burns the lamp of
liberty.”

I get a lot of recognition! But thank you 😊

Just to take stock: the first claim was that there was an entire literature supporting the anti-birthright position. Then, *after* that claim, scholars emerged to post drafts on SSRN. And *now* the government points to a "growing body of modern scholarship" all drafted after the initial claim.

God, i almost missed stupid lazy strawman Bruenig. I like how he is nearly explicitly "Robert Bork plus labor protections" in this piece
nathantankus.bsky.social
I am thinking about the audience i can record the talk in front of
nathantankus.bsky.social
Netanyahu does it again "Mr. Trump Bibi broke triple pinky promise swearsies. A promise he made in front of you. So he lied. So he basically called you stupid. Are you gonna take that?"
nathantankus.bsky.social
This is so funny. If i were Qatari PM I would make Netanyahu say "i really really really really mean it, triple pinky promise swearsies" while Trump is on the line.
nathantankus.bsky.social
It's so remarkable that they found behavior so ghoulish it crossed a line for what John Yoo could justify
mpaarlberg.bsky.social
I think the Trump admin assumed no one would try to find out who the people on the boats they blew up really were
nathantankus.bsky.social
Layla Ben-Gurion's stomach would get a little queasy if someone went back in time & explained targeted drone strikes of children & creating the Lodz Ghetto with far more horrific imprisonment technology& no possibility to smuggle food in while dropping 2000 pound bombs. This matters, for some reason

Six months at least gives Friedman time for a miracle to occur. Ravid units are uneven blotches of nonsense.
nathantankus.bsky.social
The amount of weasel words here are amazing. "Might" and "through bombing and starvation" doing such amazingly heavy lifting.
nathantankus.bsky.social
Ravid's bit is so funny. The Ravid unit is close to replacing the Friedman unit as a measure of time. Its so funny to be a media ronin for trumped up preferred royal court narratives.
