Attention Bluesky elders: The artist behind the ANIMORPHS covers is here!
I did flipbooks for all of the Animorphs covers I did, but they appeared in black and white and very small, so I am posting them here so you can see them large and in color. No AI here--just Elastic Reality and painting. You can buy a signed print of this cover here:

Financial engineering cannot fix a physical shortage.
Whether it's portable mortgages or buying MBS, the new proposals miss the root cause: We simply aren't building enough homes where people most want to live. 🏘️

“His real estate brain”

Is he good at business or bad at business?

Because you are using “good at business” words for a person that has bad at business tendencies

An excellent point from Larry — this bill marks the first time in *a decade and a half* that we've seen Republicans vote "for" the ACA in any substantive sense
Things have shifted quite a bit from when the ACA originally passed with no Republican votes, as did the enhanced premium subsidies.
These are the 17 House Republicans who voted with all Democrats to resurrect ACA funds for 3 years:

Bresnahan
Carey
De La Cruz
Fitzpatrick
Garbarino
Hurd (CO)
Joyce (OH)
Kean
LaLota
Lawler
Mackenzie
Miller (OH)
Nunn (IA)
Salazar
Valadao
Van Orden

Remembering today that having your heart broken is a necessary step on the path to becoming fully human. Whichever heartbreak is your first, it’s probably critical that a state break your heart so that you can develop a political imagination. If this is your first, I’m sorry and also welcome.

Sometimes it feels like history can repeat itself in the WNBA.

From 2003:

"They said if we didn't accept those terms, they would cancel the season at 5 o'clock," WNBA Players Association spokesman Dan Wasserman said.

Note: This move not only cuts out state access, but it undermines one of the most concrete changes that came out of George Floyd's killing here in Minneapolis in 2020, which is the BCA Force Investigations Unit, created to restore trust in investigations when law enforcement kills civilians.

Minneapolis Council Member Robin Wonsley told me Wed. every local official needs to oppose FBI taking over: "Definitely do not trust the FBI, that has given authority for ICE agents to terrorize our communities here in Minneapolis. There's no reason they should be owning the tragedy they caused."

The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says they've been informed by the FBI that US DOJ has said FBI will solely lead the investigation into Renee Nicole Good's killing by a federal officer. State investigators no longer have access to "case materials, scene evidence/investigative interviews"

NEW

Social media is being flooded with AI-altered images claiming to "unmask" the ICE agent involved in yesterday's shooting in Minnesota.

AI cannot do this, but people are already sharing names of people they believe are the shooter.

People Are Using AI to Falsely Identify the Federal Agent Who Shot Renee Good
Online detectives are inaccurately claiming to have identified the federal agent who shot and killed a 37-year-old woman in Minnesota based on AI-manipulated images.

To be clear, the federal government can't *stop* local and state authorities from conducting their own investigation. They can just make it a lot more difficult by denying access to evidence, witnesses, etc.

This is *definitely* how you behave when you're trying to bring every resource to bear, rather than trying to cover up the unlawful behavior of your own personnel.
According to my sources, the FBI was initially open to a concurrent investigation with the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (the state agency that would do this investigation).

Trumpy U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen heard about this and intervened, barring the FBI from cooperating with local police.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota investigators say they can't access evidence after fatal ICE shooting and FBI won't work jointly on probe.
