The event was a great success in showing the UK's expertise in atmospheric chemistry. We definitely have a reason to believe that this will have been the first of many UK Atmospheric Chemistry Conferences!
ncas-uk.bsky.social
The conference brought together 125 people, half of whom were PhD students or early career researchers. Topics covered ranged from air pollution exposure indoors and in cities, to emissions from wetlands and forests, through to the detailed chemistry of air sea exchange over the oceans.

Last week we hosted the first UK Atmospheric Chemistry Conference, with the @ukceh.bsky.social and @nceoscience.bsky.social.
A person speaks on the microphone, surrounded by poster boards, and with a large digital screen behind. The screen displays a graph about atmospheric processes. A large group of people sit and smile while looking ahead. A large digital screen displays a variety of graphs. Behind the screen, a gorgeous stained-glass window establishes the church-like location. Rows of people sit facing the screen. Two people talk while looking at some leaflets. There are other people and banners in the background.

Before that the aircraft was used as a demonstrator and testbed for British Aerospace, going all the way back to the start of the BAe 146 airliner platform - originally registered as G-SSSH, our aircraft was the very first BAe 146 ever built!

It’s our research aircraft’s birthday this week!

It’s the oldest airliner still flying in the UK - albeit studying the atmosphere rather than carrying passengers ✈️

Since 2004, it's helped scientists to learn more about the Earth’s atmosphere, weather, climate change, and air pollution.
A large blue and white aircraft with the letters FAAM on its tail glides through a cloudy sky, with green patches of land far below. Text says: 'Happy birthday, G-LUXE!'.
