❤️ His brother, Teddy, and late sister, Bella all had similar patterns, right down to the "hurricane eye" on their sides. Bella floofed her out of sight as she got older, but it was still there.

Sharing my favorite cloud/storm of all time for #CloudAppreciationDay.

Hard to believe its already almost the two year anniversary of the Ada, OK storm.

A supercell thunderstorm at night with pancake-stacked structure and lightning protruding out from the clouds in a few directions. A clear, starry sky sits to the left, and a gravel road extends out to the horizon.

I was rummaging through old files and came across this little gem: 7 hours of mostly 1-minute images of Hurricane Daniel on July 25, 2000 (from GOES-L, later GOES-11).
Here's the thing... I made these images from raw data collected during the science check-out period; it was not yet operational.

Hurricane Preparedness: Develop An Evacuation Plan. Find out today if you live in a hurricane evacuation zone and identify trusted sources for receiving evacuation orders. Plan for multiple options on where to go and how to get there. Have a go bag for supplies and a plan for your pets. Be prepared to leave immediately if ordered to evacuate.
