Partially submerged trees along the shore of Barr Lake on a cold spring afternoon. The fog surrounding the lake became quite heavy later in the day, and the wind picked up considerably, making for rough waters. Shortly after this picture was taken, it began to snow again.

One of the handiest editing tips I ever learned, and was genuinely *stunned* to discover how effective it was, was to simply read the text out loud during the editing process. It makes you read and say every word. I catch so many dropped words, misplaced words and incorrectly-spelled words that way.

Once upon a time, the MICROSOFT corporation somehow approved an online advertisement for one of their products, and that advertisement prominently featured the word "INTERENT" and my brain couldn't conceive how that typo had gotten through whatever layers of approval before getting to my eyes.
