On this day in 1929, Graeme Ferguson was born in Toronto.
An experimental filmmaker, he was a co-founder of IMAX. He served as president of IMAX from 1970 to 1990. He was awarded a Special Achievement Genie in 1983 and the Order of Canada in 1992. He died in 2021.

A legendary NHL goalie, he won 4 Stanley Cups, 3 Conn Smythe, 5 William M. Jennings and 3 Vezinas. An 11-time All-Star, he won 551 games. As a coach, he led the Quebec Remparts to two Memorial Cups.
