The conversation between Klein and Coates showed me that a lot of people who screech about “infighting” on the left aren’t aware of the fact that marginalized people have been forced to learn how to regulate their emotions during conflict, and so, are better able to hear what’s actually being said.

Millions of federal workers won’t get paid during a government shutdown. But members of Congress will still receive a paycheck.

Why do they always say “this kind of violence doesn’t happen in our community” Yes! It does. It happens everywhere in the US - you’re turn just isn’t up yet💔💔

This may explain why there’s an aggressive response to people who merely post Kirk’s own words. It threatens the existence of the alternate Kirk - the motivational speaker that had been marketed to young kids and white Christian groups through selective quotation & clips.

This story is heartbreaking. These deaths are preventable. It’s long past time we treat extreme heat like the emergency it is.

Justice Sotomayor is crystal clear in dissent as to what's happening: "We should not have to live in a country where the Government can seize anyone who looks Latino, speaks Spanish, and appears to work a low wage job. Rather than stand idly by while our constitutional freedoms are lost, I dissent."

No solidarity. Reporters let Trump talk this way to a woman reporter and then clamor to get their own question answered. He used to do it to April Ryan, Yamiche Alcindor and Abby Phillip.

And that’s why he controls media. No solidarity.

I'm aware that the President likes to go on television and beg me to call him to ask for troops.

I find it strange, as Chicago doesn't want troops.

I also have experience asking him for assistance – just to have the rug pulled up from underneath me when execution meets reality.

There has been an intense amount of coverage around the Minneapolis shooter.

The real story is the lives that were lost and the lives that Harper and Fletcher lived. The journey that their families and communities will have in an effort to move forward.

Talk about these kids. Please.

This is all true. We are in for some dark times, unless something dramatic changes, quickly.

AND: those of us in the field of public health, are needed more now, than ever.

It may feel hopeless today but:

Because - Our babies & our communities deserve better than a rolling litany of horrors.
