Today is my favorite person @brentclambert.bsky.social 's birthday! The SFF field is better for his part in it as a writer, a reader, a friend and cheerleader and my life is brighter for sharing his light. If you have not let it bless you just yet, pick up and devour his A Necessary Chaos today.

Come talk to us about Burning Bright, whether my take on the tiny ending mystery makes sense, and why cyberpunk/space opera fusions are best!

As promised to @sharangbiswas.bsky.social: the painted edges of his novella The Iron Below Remembers! It's a little worse for wear from two cross country trips, but still pretty.

Alt history, academia meets superheroes, and queer af. Definitely recommend this one. (From @neonhemlock.bsky.social)

) The Crawling Moon short horror anthology from Neon Hemlock Press.

This is probably my number one favorite horror anthology I've read (and I read a lot of those). While it doesn't bill itself as queer erotic horror that's def an element in a lot of the stories.

Are there any cool nonprofit-y publishing grants that you've heard of lately? We now have the means to apply for such through a nonprofit sponsor, but the grants I have in mind open up in early 2026.

I think some of the programs have an AI capacity that can read a text, but don’t necessarily send it anywhere. But obviously with something like Adobe it’s hard to trust that it doesn’t go anywhere.

Tomorrow is the two year anniversary of Skin Thief: Stories! I'm very proud of this book. I put it together during the darkest period of my adult life. I felt very alone and friendless when I sent it out into the world and it brought me so much love in return. Thank you to everyone who's read it. 🖤

Last night I finished North Continent Ribbon by Ursula Whitcher and I can’t recommend it enough. Lovely storytelling and some of the best worldbuilding I’ve come across in a while. Also, to sweeten the deal, almost every last character is gay 🌈

I was lucky enough to read an ARC of this. It is stunning. I said STUNNING. I highly recommend it. I think more people should be shouting about Christopher's work. If you are into collections that smack you with how good they are then hi. Do not miss this one. Sincerely.
