Hockey is what I discuss, that is where my loyalties lie! Don't bring other sports into this. Based in the Bay area but discuss the wider NHL. I have fan loyalty to 3 teams, the Sabres, Sharks, and Hurricanes.
Alright hockey fans, I need to hear your opinions on the #Canucks and #Blackhawks trade. I feel like CHI really undervalued a 23yo RFA, only getting a 4th. I agree that Reichel has stalled and is really a lower end mid-6 rn, but I've seen worse players go for more. What are your thoughts?

For those that have not already figured it out. I don't really post much on socials. Never got into blogging or routinely posting, but man am I enjoying (the on ice product) hockey this year. It's early, but the chaos and skill in the league has gone way up this year!

Finally, the Canes. I get to be happy that at least my transplant team won. #RaiseUp hockey looked good tonight. A few hiccups, but love seeing the new lines working together. Nikishin has really improved his NA game in the offseason, and Ehlers and Miller were real threats. Can't wait to see more.

Next up Buffalo... yup, they are still in Buffalo. They still play like Buffalo. I have no clue if their season is a write off or if this is just a bump, like every season. Not much to say about a 4-0 loss. NEXT!

Let me quickly recap, Sharks game. I will not talk about Ned's adventures in goaltending, please check out @tealtown-usa.bsky.social if you want to hear about that. Because other than 3 minutes at the end, the #SJSharks looked INCREDIBLE! Even without 3 of their young stars, the future looked teal.

Well... I know what the hockey feed is going to be filled with. I am not going to like it...
October 10, 2025 at 5:46 AM
I'm not going to applaud #RaiseUp for what should have never been in consideration. Let's also bot pretend, likelihood is they made the decision purely because of the backlash and financial reprocussions. The NHL, and hockey as a whole, needs to change and quick. These abusive men don't belong here.

This fan will not just stop coming. THIS fan - & his family - will be (a) stopping all hockey related revenue &/or (b) actively pulling for another team w/ no intent to ever return our fandom to this one absent TD's departure. (That also means not spending any $ in the new entertainment district).
If the Hurricanes do sign Michael McLeod, it will be because they don’t think fans will, in the end, actually stop coming.

They may be right. But it also feels like they’re playing with fire — and for what? A bottom-six center?

The Carolina Hurricanes may sign Michael McLeod, no matter what you think
The Carolina Hurricanes are considering signing a player acquitted of sexual-assault charges (but suspended by the NHL). Fans will have a decision to make.

The Golden Knights asked me to leave their practice facility and revoked my credential because I asked one of their players about the Hockey Canada 5.

Their sensitivity underscores the dicey nature of the decision VGK and Carolina are facing.

My story:

As Hockey Canada players’ NHL return nears, how will they be embraced by their new teams?
The players carry significant baggage, and signing them could come at a cost for teams that goes beyond finances.

@marklazerus.bsky.social never feel shame or regret for what you did. These are the things people deserve to know about who they support. They wish to silence you for asking a question on everyone's mind. I want you or others to do the same in every building in the NHL.

I feel great shame that the Carolina Hurricanes are even considering taking not just one, but multiple, of Canada's Promised Predators (sorry Nadhville, it sounds like stray shots, but you are not involved). To think that I am considering Buffalo as a higher organization than them at this point...

My my my, what a hockey game! The sharks managed to wipe the LA Kings 1st period lead. Diskinson with 5 points, Misa continues to look strong, and some surprising depth from other prospects! Streamed with Teal Town my thoughts, but certainly will be excited to follow the various players this year!

First game of the Rookie Faceoff was a bit of a mixed bag, really hurts that Lund was injured. The top prospects all looked fantastic, great to see Misa and Dickinson in teal. As expected Wang still needs some work, and overall the squad looks less composed compared to Anaheim.

Michal Misa finally signing his ELC is hopefully the final piece the #SJSharks add before the start of the hockey season. Well, except maybe Dickinson, I still want him on the squad. Excited to see the new teal team on the ice!

This has got to be one of the worst trade proposals that I have ever seen... Wennberg for Price's contract and a 3rd? This must be a Canadien thinking this benefits SJ somehow. Wennberg would have a lot of value on many teams.
September 1, 2025 at 10:21 PM
*sigh* The wait for the next NHL season is almost over. Still a few questions left before the season starts. First, San Jose, can we just sign Misa already? Second, for the entire NHL.. Can someone please sign Jack Roslovic?

Gods, here I sit hoping for some piece of news in hockey to fall my way. I'm so done with this offseason, I want my sport back. Where is the fast forward button?

Woof, Ryan Reaves for Henry Thrun. This was unexpected and certainly notable. Thrun did not really have a place on the current roster, but Ryan Reaves also is going to be a weird addition to the SJ lineup.

Final of my beloveds is the red headed child, Buffalo. I don't have as much as I'd like to say about this team. My issues are not on the ice, and there were little notable changes off of it. The Pagula's remain in control, the coaching remains problematic, and development is still stagnant.
