Business owner, Mum, Labour.
Let’s virtually socialise with good humour again like the good ol’ days!
There is a coordinated attempt not just here in this country but elsewhere, to push this country further and further to the far right. We already have open racism in a way our politicians would have been ashamed of before. I can’t see any figures in power strong enough to stand up against this.

It’s how Labour won last year - it was a stop the Tories vote rather than a huge vote FOR Labour. This is why there’s not a lot of love for them. I think they’ll be similar next time against Reform but Labour will need to do more to convince people they’re an alternative.

I think the polls are showing he’s popular among the electorate.

Then she should let loose and be a Brownite. The electorate are craving authenticity.

No worries. No offence taken. I don’t think they can do anything. I think they shouldn’t bother trying to get the media onside. Just speak directly to the people. Weekly press briefings - almost Covid style is a good idea. Could be a different minister each time. But they need to change it up a bit.

This. Do more of it. Be bolder and shout it louder. They’re too frightened of a hostile media who will be hostile whatever. It’s shit or bust now. Just do the Labour things we all want. Tax the rich more put it into public services and our communities and don’t apologise for it. They can do it.

Claire don’t come for me. I’m Labour through and through. I was a Labour Cllr. I have seen ALL those things but I want them to be even bolder stop being so frightened of the media as they’re going to hate them whatever. Just go further and shout it from the rooftops.

I think it’s a sign of how desperate people are for change. In reality it’s never going to happen quickly. I’d really really like to see Labour being bolder though. Tax the rich, boost public services and support lower earners give people something to believe in and feel positive about. It’s time.

Darren is a good shout, in this day and age you need to be really good at social media and just be able to come across as “normal”. People are so sick of struggling and promises of change not bringing it. Teresa promised it, as did Boris et al then Starmer. Sadly they see him as no different. 😞

There’s no one other than Wes who I think could do any better. Labour are going to learn all the wrong lessons from Mamdani and Polanski. They’re popular because they’re passionate, charismatic and really believe in what they’re saying. Labour are too scared of their own shadows. They need fire!
November 8, 2025 at 2:35 PM
I can’t name one bit of comms the they’ve got right since coming in. It’s annoying because they’ve done some good things but the comms has been shockingly awful.
November 6, 2025 at 7:10 PM
I completely agree. It isn’t about policing poppies but at the moment Labour are terrified of their own shadows and getting things wrong. I wish they’d just come out and say what they believe in without fear or favour. They’re trying to please everyone and pleasing no one.

Then ask the Scottish government then. Education is devolved.
November 5, 2025 at 10:15 AM
I really just wish they’d been more honest at the election as people would have agreed with them. I’m fearful this is their Nick Clegg tuition fees moment. Never make promises you can’t keep.

She did and I’ll always vote Labour but the fact it’s taken this long to tell the truth when they knew it last year has damaged them, possibly beyond repair. We’ll see. Hopefully they can turn things round now and people will forgive them.
November 4, 2025 at 5:59 PM
Exactly! It’s there in black and white ……will not increase taxes on working people that’s why labour won’t increase income tax, NI….. etc etc. Again I’ve always thought income tax should raise particularly on high earners as well as taxing wealth. But they should have said that. They didn’t.
November 4, 2025 at 3:03 PM
They clearly said no tax rises on working people. I’ve always thought they should raise taxes but I’m annoyed they didn’t say it. They should have been far more honest with the public.
