this tdov marks a full decade of being 'visible'. if ten years have taught me anything, it's that just visibility isn't enough. chants of 'trans rights' without any actionable change isn't enough. all the passive allies in the world won't chalk up to anything if real action isn't taken year-round.

we had a great 8 years of it being acceptable to be publicly queer but the right tapped into their hysteria and are trying to push us back decades. this is why the left warned of relying on rainbow capitalism because their support was about profit above all else. the solution is for us to not hide

Every year, come election season, I get a handful of texts encouraging me to vote, addressed to my deadname. It's been literally 10 years since I went by that name, and I don't even live in the same state anymore. "Stop to end" doesn't help! Just another reason to dread the elections!! 🙃
