Clearing our mum and dad's house after our mum died in June. We've found a book much cherished by my grandfather that we feared had gone missing forever.

Another satisfying evening. And Crystal Palace get three. Isak, I'm sure, will draw consolation from his old teammates progressing to the next round. #nufc

I love AOC. She's so refreshing. Such a pleasant change from no-brain narcissists, soulless "I'm not racist but ..." zombies, thieving billionaires, and all the other heartless, life-despising loudmouths who have seemingly lost the capacity to think and feel. #Hope #Mamdani
@aoc at the rally for Mamdani Sunday in NYC.

“This city was built by the Irish escaping famine, Italians fleeing fascism, Black Americans fleeing slavery and Jim Crow, Latinos seeking a better life, Native people standing for themselves, Asian Americans coming together…”

So good!! 🔥

Jesus was born Jewish and the Jews despised the Samaritans. Jesus's parable teaching that acts of generosity are expressions of God's love has a Samaritan as hero. His point is that love sees beyond difference, beyond creed, colour, sexuality, gender etc. etc. Christian nationalism is an oxymoron.

"Y'all think Trump's building a ballroom. Buddy, that's a fucking bunker." #PreachIt
No lies. No hyperbole. Just truth!

Especially the part about the new bunker!

For the second goal yesterday, Bruno finished emphatically and Tonali cleverly protected the space for him, but Will Osula's run and shot were transformational. Once he's honed his talent to match his passion he'll be unstoppable. #willosula #nufc

Anyone can become disabled.

Anyone can lose their job.

Anyone can become homeless.

Anyone can go hungry.

These are not moral failings. They can happen in an instant.

Most people are far closer to living in poverty than they realize.

We must fight for one another & for the most vulnerable.

Letitia James: may God protect you, and give you the victory you so richly deserve. #righteousnesslikeamightystream
This is what courage sounds like.

Letitia James: “Stand tall. Never cow down or back down or break or bend. There is no fear today because I believe justice will rain down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.” 👏🏽

When the cockle pickers were drowned in Morecambe years ago I spoke to students about how people were dehumanised by the label 'asylum seekers'. Someone said, "But it's not sad like a family drowning on holiday." Then it went quiet, because, I think, everyone realised that's exactly how sad it was.
🔴Language matters. Rather than 'migrants', why don't we just call them 'people'?

Some thoughts on how we can do better. 👇

Very sad news that Daniel Naroditsky has died. He was clearly a brilliant chess player and a remarkable elucidator of the game. He also had a very likeable manner. He was a stranger to me but he seemed a kind, open-hearted and original spirit. May he rest in peace.

Of course racism was unknown in football until yesterday ...
If Robert Jenrick thinks the story of 1980s football hooliganism is ‘The police put a quick but firm end to it’, I’ve a big bag of magic beans that he’s gonna *love*

This is sad news. I used to enjoy teaching 'v'. We could use more of Harrison's unflinching and reflective spirit now.

OBAMA: It's fair to say that 80% of the world's problems involve old men hanging on who are afraid of death and insignificance, and they won't let go. They build pyramids, and they put their names on everything. They get very anxious about it.
