Always many candidates for this but Minnesota fans are increasingly good for commenting under moderately bad injury news that “this happens to us every year” when it really really hasn’t for that team

Not that transferable to the NHL but I’ve had a surface-level look (next post)

Despite LeBron James' return, the NBA’s star crisis worsens
The league is dangerously close to having the distinction of having over half its stars in street clothes on any given night in the NBA.

Not suggesting this is a deep dive but you could divide the Leafs' season into three parts from an injury perspective (most recent game not in chart):

7 pretty healthy games to start (3-3-1 record)

10 mostly without Tanev but nothing too bad (5-5-0)

5 since with more significant absences (1-2-2)
November 24, 2025 at 6:43 PM
This will be the 23rd different absence to injury/illness in Černák's NHL career (the first 21 going into this season shown here), but none of the others has been for longer than 10 games and - as is customary - the Lightning haven't said anything much about any of them

"All inclusive" MGL table through 20 November, i.e. counting anyone under contract on LTIR, SOIR etc.

This week's housekeeping is to move Rutger McGroarty out of the Penguins' core numbers as he was sent down when healthy (even if a circumstance of timing).
