Just a man in a little bubble on a little island. Mostly bad but well punctuated observations about the movies, games, and books in my life.
I found the gameplay and combat of Alan Wake a bit too clunky, and it made the game a bit of a chore by the 75% mark. However, it's not a long game (about 10hrs) and can be set to an easier difficulty in case you just want to power through for the plot.

Maybe a way to stall (perhaps even devalue) stock prices, ahead of another massive military budget announcement?

It's alright, but I think I needed at least one truly likeable character. I was a bit ground down by the unrepentant selfishness of it all.

Hats off to TC (and others) if they actually played /half/ of those shots on screen though. I don't know one end of a whiff-whaff bat from the other...

Alex Ip suggests it's protest against a Gen AI feature.

bsky.app/profile/alex...
BREAKING: sparked by a mass exodus of X users in protest of a new function that feeds images to Generative AI for other users to edit, for the first time since April 8th, Bluesky gained more than 55,000 new users in a day.

There are still 6.5 hours to go before the @bskycheck.com counter resets.

But who had the better triumphant broom-raise moment? - BroomBoy in tLJ or Dorothy in Wicked: For Good? 🤔

(I like tLJ.)

Fischism.

Maybe it's because fishing has too much empty time in which 'smart men' have nothing to do but think to themselves. A dangerous pastime.

Mid-gar Wright! Marty should approve.

Most people weren't alive in 1975 so not sure they're worth asking.

That's a shame. I found myself utterly enthralled - probably my favourite film of the year so far. Really didn't feel obvious to me in any way.

Kierans should evolve into Keiths at a certain age since that is a name for older men only.

Also failed. Need to find some melancholic music to get me through this.

Obviously people will be thinking 'Pokemon', but the description in that article sounds just as much like summoning a wolf familar or skeleton in Baldurs Gate. Seems...vague.

I wouldn't consider a movie long until it breaks the 2.5hr mark, and part of that might be because with ads the experience hits the big three. I blame a episode of Bottom for telling young me that Das Boot at 3hrs-ish was a byword for 'long'.

Ah, I'll try fighting closer to get under for the saw blades then. Been trying to keep distance to avoid his E Honda flying headbutt, but keep getting surprised by a saw blade zooming in from off-screen.

Ragequit at Moorwing last night. That boss feels insane for this stage of the game. Did you have the little knight bug helping?

I'll take that damn bugowl bastard out today! Game's too beautiful for me to quit altogether.
