Donald Trump has just released a national under 18 trans care ban executive order. I am working through specifically how it tries to do this, and will live tweet here section by section as I read through it.

Stop buying the claims that the framing of "temporary" or "pause."

They are altering the review processes of federally funded scientific research from merit-based peer review processes to political screening by ideologues.

SUBJECT: Temporary Pause of Agency Grant, Loan, and Other Financial Assistance Programs 'The American people elected Donald J. Trump to be President of the United States and gave him a mandate to increase the impact of every federal taxpayer dollar. In Fiscal Year 2024. of the nearly $10 trillion that the Federal Government spent, more than $3 trillion was Federal financial assistance, such as grants and loans. Career and political appointees in the Executive Branch have a duty to align Federal spending and action with the will of the American people as expressed through Presidential priorities. Financial assistance should be dedicated to advancing Administration priorities, focusing taxpayer dollars to advance a stronger and safer America, eliminating the financial burden of inflation for citizens, unleashing American energy and manufacturing, ending wokeness" and the weaponization of government, promoting efficiency in government, and Making America Healthy Again. The use of Federal resources to advance Marxist equity, transgenderism, and green new deal social engineering policies is a waste of taxpayer dollars that does not improve the day-to-day lives of those we serve. This memorandum requires Federal agencies to identify and review all Federal financial assistance programs and supporting activities consistent with the President's policies and requirements. For example, during the initial days of his Administration, President Donald J Trump issued a series of executive orders to protect the American people and safeguard valuable taxpayer resources, including Protecting the American People Against Invasion (Jan. 20, 2025). Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid (Jan 20, 2025), Putting America First in International Environmental Agreements (Jan. 20, 2025). Unleashing American Energy (Jan. 20. 2025). Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing (Jan. 20. ent these orders, each agency must complete a comprehensive analysis of all jal assistance programs to identify programs, projects, and activities that any of the President's executive orders. In the interian, to the extent applicable law, Federal agencies must temporarily pause all activities related disbursement of all Federal financial assistance, and other relevant agency nay be implicated by the executive orders, including, but not limited to, financial surice tot foreign nongovernmental organizations, DEL woke gender ideology, and the pause will provide the Administration time to review agency programs of the funding for those programs consistent with the law and the he temporary pause will become effective on January 28, 2025, at 5:00 rehensive analysis. Federal agencies must immediately deadlines for assistance programs arising while the les must report this information to OMB along with an directs Federal agencies to pause all activities associated conducting merit review panels No later than Febrar - 10. 2025, agencies shail submit to OMB detailed information on any programs projects or activities subject to this pause. Each agency must pause. (i) issuance of disbursement of Federal funds under all open awards, and (il) other relevant has reviewed provided guidance to your agency with respect to the information act recordin grant and ptions allowing Federal agencies to issue new awards or take other case basis. To the extent required by law, Federal agencies may continue nistrative actions. such as closeout of Federal awards (2 CFR 200.344), or expressly required by law

bud grant spent a few pages of his autobiography talking about how he built a strong friendship with the raven community but the evils of a fallen world wouldn't allow it to last
I love almost all animals, but I have tried everything possible to be friendly to seagulls, to no avail. I raised them, fed them, did everything for them, and as soon as they were raised, they said, "The heck with you," and off they would go. Ravens, on the other hand, are very different. They want to be your buddy. Ravens will sit on your shoulder, look you in the eye, and even come when you call them. They're really amazing animals. Many years ago, at our lake place, I had two ravens. They were around all the time. I would call them and they would come down to get something to eat. They were wild, but they hung around all the time. They also used to go over to the neighbors' place. Sometimes they got into a little trouble. "Yeah, they were here this morning. They pulled the clothespins right off my clothesline," they would tell me. But other than that they were really good. One week one of the neighbors let some of their relatives use their cabin for the weekend, and the ravens ended up in their backyard. The lady had come out to hang up some wash and those two big ravens came right up to her. Bear in mind, ., ravens are large. They have a wingspan of probably six feet, which can be pretty intimidating. As soon as they landed, she went screaming into the house. Her son was there and thought she was being attacked by these huge black birds, so he grabbed a shotgun and went out and killed both of them. I couldn't blame the family. No one had told them that the ravens would come to visit in the morning. But it was a tragic ending for a couple of great pets. Another time we had three ravens, a male and two females. The male raven would sit on top of the garage. He was really large and boisterous—typical of a male. One night I heard a big commotion. A great horned owl had come and picked that raven right off the garage roof. There were feathers everywhere. And that was the end of him. Another time we had a raven at our home in Bloomington, and it stayed with us year-round. Ravens are awfully hardy, and this one roosted outside on top of the dog kennel. We fed him, so he stayed around. Ravens are awfully good mimics. This one could bark like a dog! He was so good, you really could not tell the difference. I mean he was that clever. The neighborhood kids never paid much attention to the raven except for one kid. For whatever reason, this kid did not like the raven. One day he came over to play basketball. In order to get to the basketball court, the kid had to walk by the dog kennel in our backyard. The raven was perched on the kennel. As he walked by I saw him pick up a rock and make a big detour around the dog kennel. The raven was just sitting on top of the kennel, not paying any attention to the kid, but I was thinking, I wonder what he is going to do with that rock. As the kid got behind the kennel, near the basketball court, he suddenly turned around and threw the rock right at the raven. I suppose he was maybe 15 or 20 yards away. He hit that raven right in the head and knocked him over. I could have given that kid another 5,000 rocks to throw and he would never have hit that raven again, but this one hit it square in the head. I took him to the vet, but it was too late. Our raven died. That was another tragic ending for one of our pets. And they all hurt.
