2> Cyclists never stopped riding, but they're in the street now. It's a vision of what Doug Ford wants: cyclists mixed in traffic which makes it harder for drivers to get around. This is what they seemingly want to. (They want cyclists gone/dead ultimately - but in practice, this is the vision).

Two things:
Brad "I sleep with a bat" Bradford, after complaining bike lanes cleared b4 car lanes (lie), put out a video other day complaining a street in front of school was being snow cleared when parents coming to get kids. The lurching to any issue that he thinks will cause rage is incredible.

It’s not unreasonable to want a bit more substance from some of the govt minsters that might put some oomph behind the hockey homonationalism stuff.
"Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree says he won’t pass judgment on the U.S. crackdown by federal forces in Minnesota that resulted in the deaths of two residents."

The 🇨🇦 government is looking to amend & pass sweeping surveillance legislation. Minister, you might want to have an opinion.
‘Canada is not Minnesota,’ minister says in reaction to U.S. immigration raids
Ottawa removed more than 22,000 people last year "in a compassionate and humane manner," said the public safety minister.

Yes, we had a major snow event.

Yes, the city is triaging, and many sidewalks in particular still need work.

But it's been a week and arterial bikeways are remain unrideable and worse appear to be dumping grounds for snow-clearing.

What's the plan, Toronto?

“Removing the bike lanes… would lead to more accidents, injuries and deaths. The government recognized as much when it added an immunity clause to the legislation shielding it from liability, his ruling said.”
“The Ford government is wasting time and public money on a bad-faith culture war, against the advice of its own experts, at a moment when Ontarians need leadership focused on real solutions for real challenges"

The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.
