If you're interested in the cognitive neuroscience of memory feel free to email me!

I do experimental psychology, brain imaging (fMRI and MEG) and a bit of modelling. Lab is doing stuff on forgetting, aging, schemas, and event boundaries, but we're not limited to that.

Preprint alert! 🚨
1/ How does deep sleep reshape our memories? Our new study shows that slow-wave sleep (SWS) reorganises episodic memory networks, shifting recall from the parietal cortex to the anterior temporal lobe (ATL). With Polina Perzich and @bstaresina.bsky.social . A thread below👇

New paper using M/EEG to look at attractive and repulsive serial dependence in working memory, led by the excellent Jiangang Shan, with Jasper Hajonides.

In #memories, when does bias towards or away from a stimulus arise? New research shows that attractive serial dependence emerges during #decision-making, while repulsive biases originate during early sensory encoding. 🧪

Attractive serial dependence arises during decision-making
Our memory of a stimulus can be biased toward or away from previous stimuli, but when this bias arises is unclear. This study shows that attractive serial dependence emerges during decision-making, su...

Out in @cp-neuron.bsky.social now! Kia and I argue that attention research would benefit from a stronger focus on how the brain shifts between external and internal attention. We outline competing hypotheses, review existing behavioral and neural findings, and highlight open questions.
