When a deal is made with teachers, it should be kept.

That’s why I support @tabco.org, and educators across Maryland, in calling for the legal right to strike for lawful purposes as a last-resort tool.

Some of the most important work in our region happens when we invest directly in our young people.

Always great to see James Piper Bond and catch up on the incredible work of Living Classrooms Foundation. Their impact—connecting young people to opportunity, place, and purpose—is hard to overstate.

I’m proud to stand with him on the issues that matter to Baltimore County, and even prouder to call him a friend. Nights like this remind me why the work—and the relationships—matter.

Charles has become the conscience of the Maryland Senate. He has a way of blending history with the choices we face today, reminding us that policy isn’t abstract—it shapes real lives. He never shies away from telling the full story or pushing us to confront the systems that still hold people back.

No better way to start a week than great music and good company.

Last Monday night, I spent time with my friend Senator Charles E. Sydnor III at his fundraiser—an evening grounded in purpose and lifted by music. Hearing Maysa Leak, a Baltimore County native, set the tone made it even more special.

Baltimore’s Royal Farms says it best: “Real Fresh. Real Fast. Real Green.”

Sometimes, as a candidate, that’s all you can ask for.
There’s little time for meal prep when you’re bouncing from community meetings to civic groups to political fundraisers to holiday get-togethers.

On December 27, while the season’s still here,
We’ll knock doors and make calls — neighbor to neighbor, peer to peer.
Because Baltimore County should work for everyone —
More affordable, inclusive, modern. One County. One.

The candles still glow, the lights shine bright —
Hanukkah’s closing, Christmas in sight.
Kwanzaa begins as the week rolls on —
Different traditions. One County. One future to build on.

What stayed with me most is how St. Stephens AME Church shows up beyond Sunday mornings—supporting families in Essex and across the East Side, and being a steady presence when times are hard. That kind of active, grounded faith matters.

I’m grateful to my friend, Sharonda Huffman, for the invitation. Rev. Dr. Christopher Burnett's message met the moment with honesty and care, grounded in encouragement, unity, and a faith that’s meant to be lived, not just spoken.

Some Sundays arrive right when you need them.

A couple Sundays ago, I walked into St. Stephen AME carrying the weight of this moment—and I walked out steadier.

This community has deep roots, real strength and genuine pride. With clear priorities and follow-through, Dundalk’s future can be brighter than ever.
December 22, 2025 at 1:04 AM
Dundalk doesn’t need to compromise in order to revitalize. It needs leadership that works with the community—investing in workforce housing, revitalizing the downtown, honoring the history of Turner Station, and connecting residents to good jobs at Tradepoint Atlantic, Bayview and beyond.
December 22, 2025 at 1:04 AM
Thank you to my former colleague Tom Hickey for opening his home and making space for an honest conversation about what Dundalk and the East Side need now.
December 22, 2025 at 1:04 AM
Dundalk matters.

I was genuinely grateful to recently spend time talking with neighbors in a community that has powered Baltimore County for generations through hard work, the trades, and union jobs.

Doni is an award-winning journalist, author, and entrepreneur who has spent more than 30 years using media to uplift Black communities, support economic empowerment, and make sure important stories don’t get ignored. He’s a trusted and respected voice in Baltimore, and that matters.

| A Meaningful Conversation with a Voice Baltimore Trusts |

This Sunday (tomorrow) at 5:30 a.m., I’ll be on WMAR-2 News Baltimore sitting down with Doni Glover of BMORENews.com — a conversation I truly appreciated.

That’s exactly what I saw in that room—people choosing to stay engaged, to stick together, and to keep doing the work even when it’s hard.

It reminded me of something President @barackobama.bsky.social once said: “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

After a tough year for our country and party, it was grounding to be with people who haven’t walked away—who keep showing up for their neighbors and our shared values.
December 19, 2025 at 8:25 PM
Being in that room meant a lot to me. I’ve known many of these folks for years—working alongside them through campaigns, community fights, setbacks, and small wins that never made headlines.
December 19, 2025 at 8:25 PM
This is the heart of our party.

I was really grateful to attend the Southwest Baltimore County Democratic Club's holiday party recently, held with the Catonsville @indivisible.org at the Baltimore County Arts Guild's Clubhouse in Catonsville.
