Read the whole thread. They're putting a woman who - if reports are at all correct - was grossly biased against trans participants in the feminist caucus in charge of investigating "misconduct" for a mailer that accurately reported a DFL endorsement that AFTERWARDS was rescinded.

It's ridiculous.

they're coming after Minneapolis for the fucking MAILER now?

when you allow people to hold multiple state level positions of power, you are creating a situation where people will naturally have conflicts of interest and not be in a position to hold others accountable for those conflicts. And that's where corruption festers.

the state DFL executive committee is insisting (via vote by the majority of their members) that it's the Mpls DFL that needs to be put on "probation" and "monitored closely" over the next two years when the same fucking people sit all the committees and create one giant circle jerk

Ummmmm fucking hello??? Conflict of interest? @dfl.org does anyone there even care about the implications of this??
The investigation is being conducted by a panel subcommittee of the CRBC led by Latonya Reeves. Reeves is the author of one of the original challenges to the Minneapolis DFL convention, calling for the revocation of Sen. Fateh's endorsement. Reeves later withdrew her challenge, choosing instead to participate and vote on the CRBC ruling which retracted Sen Fateh's endorsement. Along several other members of the CRBC, Reeves is also a voting member of the DFL State Executive Committee, which absolved the CRBC of error in their handling of the challenges to the Minneapolis DFL convention,

The list of Panel members. Reeves, Wicklund, Hansen, Martin, etc. So many of the usual names.

Sounds like the DFL CBRC needs to find a new hobby

Drawing it full circle here: LaTonya was the person against whom I lodged a specific code of conduct complaint against for her transphobia mocking pronoun usage in the DFL Feminist caucus meeting a month ago.

According to CBRC chair Tim O'Brien (and at the request of chair Carlbom): "Latonya is a respected member of the DFL and the CBRC. I am confident that she and challenge panel 4 will discharge their responsibilities in a fair and impartial manner." 🫠

Reeves is also on the Minneapolis Executive Committee. Seems like a conflict that a Minneapolis Exec Committee member is leading this challenge.

“This revision changes the CD5 Nominating Committee to work in the same manner as the state party’s Nominating Committee.”

Oh great, that’s reassuring 😭

Perhaps we shouldn’t be using the problematic State Nominations Committee as a model?

Not like our Party has had issues with recusals before…

The current bylaw which this proposal strikes through is a clear cut “shall not recommend its members”. The new proposed rule has so many loopholes to effectively be meaningless.

I know i ask this a lot, but when are we allowed to stop calling them moderates??? I want to be politically correct, call people by the labels they've chosen for themselves, but it just feels misleading to talk about them that way.

Minneapolis is a dangerous hellhole, a killing field, and is incapable of running free and fair elections. Sincerely, the committee to reelect the guy who's been mayor for 8 years. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
