Why do ppl think it's ok to do this? Who you work with/what you've worked on/having millions isn't always the flex you think it is. Burned? Bc I didn't respond the way you wanted? Didn't gush over someone sending $preditory emails? (Having $ doesn't = knowledge in fields you aren't in btw) #writesky

CM - Hi Nicola, I've read your book Rathlin Lass (From The Londoners Series) Are you seeking a Hollywood screenwriter for an adaptation?
My credits include Game of Thrones (10 episodes), Better Call Saul (20 episodes) The Walking Dead (16 episodes), Ripley (8 episodes), and many more and a total of 180 episodes.
Although I have worked on tons of major projects, I value all work equally and I am always interested in anything that could suit the screen.

Upon completion the screenplay would be put forward to my agent, Siyu Li Han, who is also a Netflix Executive. She was a Creative Executive on Seasons 3 and 4 of Stranger Things and Season 3 of Better Call Saul.
I'm taking on a couple of projects before my series starts filming at massively reduced rates of $20,000 for a movie screenplay or $10,000 for a series episode. We'd both be credited as writers. Me (screenplay based on the book), you (author).
I've recently received my first book credit as well, which includes themes and elements from screenplays/movies, released by Mira Books/Canary Street Press (recently merged) and the Romance Genre imprint of HarperCollins's Harlequin Trade Publishing, and I was the screenplay expert for it.
My full resume is on my IMDb. (Link)
Nicola - Sorry Calvin, but that is a resounding no from me. Not every author wants their books turn into Hollywood fodder. That has never been and never will be my end goal.
Also, as someone in marketing, let me give you some advice - you may want to take a Marketing 101 class, because your pitch is horrible. "I've read your book". No you haven't; we both know that. If you want people/potential clients to take you seriously with that line, you need to actually prove you've read the book. "I've read your book." comes across like every other copy/paste pitch "I read your book [title]. I think it's great! Writing a book isn't easy. - Alt text truncated

it's crazy how fast movies become dated. for instance, the 2021 movie "Don't Look Up" no longer makes sense, because if an American scientist discovered a planet-killing comet heading towards us today, their main response would be "oh thank fuck for that"

Today my @nytimes.com colleagues and I are launching a new series called Lost Science. We interview US scientists who can no longer discover something new about our world, thanks to this year‘s cuts. Here is my first interview with a scientist who studied bees and fires. Gift link: nyti.ms/3IWXbiE

At least she had been willing to update to a dial phone, bypassing the operator, but it was the only one, and receiving a call involved a servant climbing the stairs to knock on her door.

Good and evil #clash on repeat, an eternal struggle. Why some have broken moral compasses seems an unanswerable riddle. Follow that arc as it continues to bend. #Granted it is slow, but #only_one solution is acceptable: justice.

My book series has an official music track (Really. Fatality by Kaioh.) While I could've gone through the DRM channel, like, heck no, I didn't want Dave Rodgers to find out about my shitty character and my bad artwork. He's Initial D famous, after all.

He still did anyway💀

I escape the sepia streetlights of the city into the #country, where moonlight filters through naked trees to #shred the hillsides blue. Strange how I enjoy the muted palette after the sun's retreat. Night's cool #conundrum.
